Sun I’d Seen

I woke this morning to a sun I’d seen before

Same faces knockin’ at my door

Deja vu they say but I can’t get away

A tale that seems intent to stay

And the map always shows us the same way home

I wish we’d write a story of our own

A story that acts just like a remedy

Antidote to our monotony

Where will we go?

To step into tomorrow

And what will we say?

To forget about today

If we could start again with how this all began

Would we still fall into a trap?

A plot that’s clear to see, a flat-line destiny

Voice screams how it all should be

If we turn down the volume that’s outside our head

And listen to the mind and what it says

Could we cut the line that ties us to a bitter end

It’s time to rise now let us all transcend

Where will we go?

Step into tomorrow

And what will we say?

To forget about today

And where will we go?

Step into tomorrow

And what will we say?

To forget about today

(cue sexy sax solo)

 Where will we go?

Step into tomorrow

And what will we say?

To forget about today

And where will we go?

To forget about tomorrow

And what will we say?

To forget about today
